The latter is available only with CenPOS, a merchant centric end to end payment engine. On October 1, 2015, retail merchants that don&#8217;t support chip cards will be liable for counterfeit credit card fraud.<\/p>\n<p>Vantiv announced a partnership with Ingenico in 2013, to distribute Ingenico EMV ready terminals. While Vantiv did not specifically state which terminals would be certified, the official PR from Ingenico includes, &#8220;The portfolio of Ingenico EMV certified devices includes\u00a0<strong>iCT220 &amp; iCT250<\/strong>\u00a0countertop terminals, and <a title=\"iWL220\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ingenico.com\/en\/products\/payment-terminals\/wireless\/iwl-series\/\">i<\/a>WL220\u00a0wireless terminal.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_3483\" style=\"width: 216px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/3dmerchant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/ict250_ingenico.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-3483\" class=\"wp-image-3483 size-full\" title=\"iCT250 ingenico emv terminal\" src=\"https:\/\/3dmerchant.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/04\/ict250_ingenico.jpg\" alt=\"ict250 ingenico emv terminal\" width=\"206\" height=\"191\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-3483\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">iCT250 ingenico emv terminal<\/p><\/div>\n<p>To enable EMV at the merchant level, the following steps are needed:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Acquirer completes requirements to process EMV<\/li>\n<li>Hardware (each terminal) certified to accept EMV<\/li>\n<li>Hardware certified to acquirer<\/li>\n<li>Gateway certifies hardware to acquirer (if applicable; required for all multi-lane terminals and integrated solutions)<\/li>\n<li>Merchant account enabled for EMV<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In May 2015, Vantiv announced, &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/investors.vantiv.com\/phoenix.zhtml?c=250843&amp;p=irol-newsArticle&amp;ID=2052371\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">I<\/a><span class=\"ccbnTxt\"><a href=\"http:\/\/investors.vantiv.com\/phoenix.zhtml?c=250843&amp;p=irol-newsArticle&amp;ID=2052371\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b class=\"hugin\">ngenico Group Adds Vantiv&#8217;s EMV-certified Application to Smart\u00a0<\/b><\/a><b class=\"hugin\"><a href=\"http:\/\/investors.vantiv.com\/phoenix.zhtml?c=250843&amp;p=irol-newsArticle&amp;ID=2052371\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Terminals for Small- and Medium-sized Businesses<\/a>&#8220;. <\/b><\/span>Because every terminal is to individually certified, it&#8217;s unclear which terminals have been certified to date since they&#8217;re not specified, but the iCT250 is definitely on the list.<\/p>\n<p><strong>With CenPOS, Vantiv merchants can also use the Verifone MX 915<\/strong>, a multilane, signature capture terminal, and enable EMV immediately. To process transactions, merchants use a virtual terminal with a web browser and high speed internet, or optional integrated solution.
