Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) basics

Electronic Bill Presentment and Payment (EBPP) is the electronic presentation of statements, bills, invoices, and related information sent by a company to its customers, and corresponding payment for goods or services. In short, it’s accepting payments and billing via internet and email.

This payment method is still in infancy so there are many options for how merchants can do this. (Creating an online payment system will be addressed at a later date.) More and more merchants are starting with the simplest- a hard copy bill is mailed, and the user can go online to make the payment via a simple secure form. As a web development agency owner, and long time active participant in the Direct Marketing Association, I have plenty of experience with ecommerce as well as simple forms.
