Since its launch last year, the OpenTrack initiative has been received with significant enthusiasm by many of the industry’s most prominent technology vendors – over 130 vendors have expressed interest in participating in the program. As a result, solution options featuring seamless, secure integration with the DealerTrack DMS are now available across virtually every segment of dealership operations. To mention just a few, DealerTrack has executed OpenTrack agreements with the following providers:

* CRM – DealerSocket, VinSolutions, eLEAD, iMagiclab, The Higher Gear Group
* Desking – Advent Resources, ProMax
* Menu – MenuVantage, Ristken Software, MaximTrak
* Multi-channel marketing – DME, @utoRevenue, DealerMine, Intelligent Automotive Advertising (IAA)
* Service appointments – Xtime, AutoEforms, TimeHighway

Of course, the DealerTrack AAX inventory management platform and other DealerTrack solutions are also integrated.

“We are very excited about the momentum of our OpenTrack program,” said Raj Sundaram, senior vice president, solutions and services group at DealerTrack. “Our dealers have expressed great support of our OpenTrack strategy and we are working as fast as possible to get all partners connected. The partners share and support our commitment to creating an effective, easy and affordable integration platform for our mutual dealer customers. OpenTrack clearly substantiates our vision of an open platform approach designed to give dealers the maximum flexibility to use the solutions that best meet their needs.”

“The OpenTrack program has enabled us to take our enhanced CRM functionality to a whole new level,” said Doug Kinney, CEO of VinSolutions. “Our customers with the DealerTrack DMS can now take advantage of real-time, bi-directional integration made possible by OpenTrack, allowing them to make critical decisions based on the most timely and accurate information available. In addition, the OpenTrack platform has been very easy to work with, and completely reliable from a systems standpoint.”

Additionally, some of the nation’s leading dealer groups have selected OpenTrack as the integration portal for their proprietary application development. For example, the Rydell Group, which operates 64 dealerships, is using OpenTrack to increase their operational efficiency and profitability. The increased flexibility dealerships get with the OpenTrack solution allows them to use a wide variety of software vendors that meet their specific needs.

DealerTrack AAX Adds New Market Insight and Sourcing Functionality

DealerTrack AAX enhances inventory management solution with the addition of new “MarketDriver” functionality, delivering regional market information.

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., Feb 12, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — DealerTrack, Inc., a subsidiary of DealerTrack Holdings, Inc. (Nasdaq: TRAK), a leading provider of on-demand software and data solutions for the U.S. automotive retail industry, today announced that it has enhanced the DealerTrack AAX inventory management solution with the addition of new “MarketDriver” functionality. The new functionality provides dealers with an unprecedented range of regional market information to help them identify and acquire vehicles that perform well in their markets – empowering them to make smart, low-risk inventory decisions that maximize dealership profits.

MarketDriver allows DealerTrack AAX users to see top-performing vehicles in their local market. No other technology provider offers such a powerful combination of data from ALG, Experian (AutoCount) and Manheim. Each individual dealership can now access customized information based on their defined geographical market and other preferences. Dealers who use DealerTrack AAX will be able to see market days’ supply, average listing price, and regional profit potential.

DealerTrack AAX continues to provide dealers with historical transaction information that details how particular vehicles have performed in their dealership. With this new integration, dealers also get the tracking capability to more effectively manage the performance of vehicles they are adding to their inventory mix. Not only can dealers see top market performers, they can track whether those picks are top performers for them. Taken together, the data provides a complete picture of how a vehicle has performed historically, both for the dealer and in its regional market, while also mitigating risk and providing insight into its potential future performance.

In addition, MarketDriver helps streamline the sourcing process for needed vehicles, all from one screen. It allows a dealer to quickly and easily search for a used vehicle by checking its own database of customers (sales and service) and prospects (missed appraisals), inventory at any affiliated stores, and current auction listings (physical and online). The solution then presents the sourcing options in order of their profit potential for the dealer.

“In today’s market environment, it is increasingly difficult to source quality used vehicles, and many dealers may be forced to stock ‘non-core’ vehicles that they have not previously sold – or sold successfully,” said Raj Sundaram, senior vice president, solutions and services group at DealerTrack. “Our new MarketDriver functionality enables dealers to access a wide array of regional market information about a particular vehicle, and to identify the best way to acquire it, so they can confidently make more aggressive inventory decisions that enhance their profits while minimizing the risks.”

Mr. Sundaram continued, “We are passionate about providing our dealers with the best tools in the marketplace to make the right decisions about what vehicles to stock. We know that when dealers stock the right vehicles and price them right they can achieve faster turns and improved profitability. In order to give our customers that edge, we have included MarketDriver as part of our core package.”

MarketDriver will be rolled out automatically for all DealerTrack AAX customers at no additional cost.

Reynolds and Reynolds launches Automotive Retail Management Systems

Reynolds and Reynolds Introduces the Next Generation in Automotive Retail Management Systems, ERA-IGNITE. Graphical Architecture Makes ERA®-IGNITE Applications Easier to Learn and Navigate for Dealership Personnel. ERA-IGNITE Helps Dealers Reduce Keystrokes and Screen Views.

DAYTON, OHIO – FEBRUARY 14, 2010 – The Reynolds and Reynolds Company today announced introduction of the next generation in automotive retail management systems: ERA®-IGNITE. Built on the core foundation and software of the Reynolds ERA® system, ERA-IGNITE features an advanced graphical user interface and architecture that helps dealerships improve the productivity of their employees and the profitability of their operations.

“ERA-IGNITE is designed to take advantage of ERA’s central database of all the business activity in the dealership,” explained Jon Strawsburg, vice president of Product Planning at Reynolds. “It drives efficiency in dealership operations. It drives more money to the dealer’s bottom line. And, most importantly, it extends beyond the traditional core DMS functions of payroll, parts, and accounting – into a full-fledged retail management system to provide our customers with greater access to the information in the ERA database and offer them greater functionality and flexibility in how they use the system to manage and grow their business.”

ERA-IGNITE offers dealerships the tools to:

  • Work more efficiently with streamlined applications that leverage the capabilities of a graphical user interface (GUI) to reduce the number of keystrokes and screens it takes to perform core business transactions.
  • Work faster with a familiar Windows® point-and-click environment, including drill-down fields and hyperlinks.
  • Work more effectively with more business information available at users’ fingertips.

“One of the real advantages of ERA-IGNITE is that we’ve retained the underlying architecture and logic of ERA so that if you’re used to doing tasks in a certain sequence, that application logic still holds. We’ll just get you there faster, with fewer key strokes and screens,” Strawsburg said. “That also means a dealership’s employees don’t have to learn an unfamiliar application, which makes the move to ERA-IGNITE smoother and easier. Dealers can adopt ERA-IGNITE application-by-application at their own pace, without disrupting their business or buying a completely new system.”

Strawsburg concluded: “Initial customer reaction to ERA-IGNITE has been outstanding, and we anticipate a lot of interest at the 2010 NADA Convention around ERA-IGNITE. We’re also enthusiastic about taking the signature Reynolds and Reynolds product – ERA, which is the most widely used system in the industry – and extending its strength well into the future.”
